BioChar GmbH & Co. KG is part of the Convoris Group, a medium-sized, owner-managed company founded in 2010. The Convoris Group integrates every step of the biochar value chain—from sustainably sourced raw materials and technology development to the manufacturing of innovative pyrolysis plants, the setup and operation of complete production sites, and the certified biochar production and distribution, including direct sales and logistics.
With over 20 years of experience, the founders and employees of Convoris have specialized in the construction and operation of renewable energy plants, particularly biomass facilities. These insights have been fully integrated into our cutting-edge technology. Through the industrial production of food-grade biochar, we are redefining a centuries-old product of wood gasification, giving biochar a completely new perspective in modern sustainability and resource management.

BioChar GmbH & Co. KG is both a producer and distributor of biochar. At the Reuden/Draschwitz Industrial Park near Leipzig, we manufacture our own biochar from untreated wooden raw materials, positioning ourselves as pioneers in an economically and ecologically sustainable production sector. Thanks to innovative technology, we achieve maximum yield from our raw materials. The remaining components are converted into syngas, which is then used as electricity to power our production processes or as thermal energy to dry input materials.
Behore GmbH & Co. KG
BEHORE Technology GmbH & Co. KG specializes in process engineering solutions for the production of synthetic carbon, particularly through pyrolysis technology to manufacture high-purity biochar. As a plant engineering company, BEHORE designs, manufactures, assembles, and commissions the core components of these pyrolysis systems. It also provides resources for maintenance and servicing during production. This specialized expertise is exclusively available to the Convoris Group. BEHORE Technology GmbH & Co. KG is also located in the Reuden/Draschwitz Industrial Park near Leipzig.
Convoris Verwaltungs GmbH
Convoris Verwaltungs GmbH manages all administrative functions of the Convoris Group, including sales, order processing, procurement, accounting, and human resources. These key functions are based at our Gersfeld headquarters.
